Lissylaine Reads

I've loved books and reading ever since I can remember and my great-grandmother read "Miss Suzy" to me over and over again. My tastes change over time, but tend toward paranormal romance, thrillers and mysteries, science fiction, some fantasy and urban fantasy, YA, and dystopia to name a few.

City of Bones - Cassandra Clare It took me forever to almost get through this book. I was about 90% through when we got to the reveal that I was anticipating and dreading. When that happened, the ick factor just made it that much harder for me to care about the characters (which I was having a difficult time with in the first place). I was curious if the story would get any better with the next two books, but didn't want to invest the time or money into reading them, so I read plot summaries online, and decided that I made the right decision. The final book's resolution still wasn't enough to make me want to read it and the second book.
